Parallels

I’ve been able to find many parallels between my newborn and facial work.

Working with families in those first few days of a new babes life was about creating a safe place. Bringing calm and ease through my touch and adapting to each unique little person to bring the energy that they needed in that moment. I bring this skill set into my facial work — the main difference is I am working with another medium and 𝗺𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵𝘀. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻. I encourage clients to allow themselves to drift away knowing that they are safe. To set down the heavy they’re carrying — if only for a little while.⁣

Because I always get many messages asking, I thought I would address the questions here. I can’t say that I’ll never photograph newborns (and maternity) again, but I can say that at least for now it’s not my season. Now is the time for SELF CARE. Lifting up the women, the mamas and myself. The work that I do at the spa at it’s core is very personal and important. It’s an opportunity to be at ease — and we all need that more than ever. That’s where my heart is right now.

My newborn gallery can still be found here on my website. I truly feel that this website is the online home for my full body of work past and present. My work has shaped who I am and I hold it very close.
