Sunday Masques
You will hear me talk about self care around here all-the-time. Yours and mine. Sundays are my favourite designated weekend lazy day. a great bath, comfy clothes, Survivor binging and facial masques are my idea of a perfect lazy day.
I wanted to give you the run down of what masques I chose today and what these treatments do for your skin. (I have to admit, my face is feeling smooth like a baby’s tush right now). The great thing about the Eminence products I use in the treatment room is many of them are available to buy and use at home. It can be a little overwhelming to choose the best products to use at home so hopefully this gives you a little inspiration. After all, a consistent home care routine in addition to regular facials with me is key to creating change in the skin.
step 1:
First cleanse, Stone Crop Cleansing Oil.
This is always my go to first step in a double cleanse. It has hydrating and moisturizing Stone Crop, a detoxifying microgreens complex (Broccoli, Radish and Clover sprouts, and Detoxophane from Swiss cress sprouts), Sunflower Oil and Jojoba Oil. It’s awesome for removing eye makeup, sunscreen and to melt the days gunk buildup off your face.
step 2:
Second cleanse, Monoi Age Corrective Exfoliating Cleanser.
A creamy gentle exfoliant cleanser with a natural retinol alternative & green apple stem cells. Everyone should be incorporating a retinol or retinol alternatives into their skincare routine.
step 3:
First masque, Turmeric Energizing Treatment.
I left this on for about 20 min until it was dry, then gently removed with warm water in small circular motions giving the skin a nice polishing. The treatment is a powder to mousse that I prefer to apply with a fan brush. It gives a wonderful warmth to the skin and its benefits are huge:
• Turmeric: potent antioxidant with antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties; visibly brightens, stimulates circulation and reduces puffiness
• Citrine Gemstones: stone of light and happiness; recharges, motivates and energizes the mind and body
• Paprika: assists in increasing stimulation and oxygenation for soft, glowing skin
• Zeolite: deeply detoxifies and exfoliates; releases energy upon contact with water and gives a warming sensation to invigorate the skin; improves skin’s appearance by smoothing and tightening; evens skin tone and hyperpigmentation
• Kaolin Clay: deeply cleans and softens the skin, gently draws out impurities without stripping moisture from the skin
PRO TIP: For a more intense treatment, layer the Lime Stimulating Masque over top of the Turmeric Energizing Treatment to accelerate effectiveness. Recommended for those who are familiar with stimulating masques and like it hot!
step4:
Second/Third masques, equal parts Firm Skin and Citrus & Kale Potent C+E masques.
Both are creamy gel masques that go on cool and blend beautifully. The perfect nourishing and vitamin packed blend to follow the stimulating treatment.
Firm Skin Masque:
• Plumps and rejuvenates to minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
• Restores moisture to skin
• Enriches and purifies
• Antioxidant-rich to fight free radical damage
• Softens and soothes skin
Citrus & Kale Potent C+E masque:
• Trains the skin to absorb Vitamin C more effectively
• Very high antioxidant content to prevent free radical damage
• Increases collagen production and elasticity
• Heals, repairs and reduces irritation
• Refines and evens skin tone and assists with hyperpigmentation
• Natural astringents help to balance oil production and minimize pores
